Is socket f the 1207 pin socket for the opteron when amd bring out ddr2 support? If so why do they need 1207 pin for the opteron with ddr2? are they adding other support to it or what?

speculations says the extra pins are for on-die PCIe controllerIf so why do they need 1207 pin for the opteron with ddr2?

For some reason I can't get google to translate it, and my german isn't that good anymore.
It looks like they put the pins on the Mobo. I thought that was an intresting move.
