Alright, I want to upgrade from my 366@550 and I want to go AMD ( im not even considering intel) So, Im thinking duron 600 @ 900 or so.... but I want a motherboard that is going to last a little, that I could throw a thunderbird on later... Also, how close are we to AMD's next offering, and does anyone know if it's going to require a new chipset?? Thanks a ton!

Current kt133 boards are good but will basically end with the 1.2 processors. 760 and the Via equivalent chipsets will be availible soon and should have a longer lifespan

I believe they do. Check out the DDR OC quide on Anandtech. That should shed some light on the issue.

As I recall they were using current Durons on the AMD760 board running at either 100FSB or 133FSB.

760 based boards will support current Athlon/Duron. But not at the faster bus speed.

The athlons that are made in the future will run at a higher fsb. The advantage would be to wait.
