socket A + delta fan

I have a thermosonic thermoengine with 38 CFM delta fan on my cpu and the thing is too loud. I was wondering if I mounted an 80 mm quieter sunon case fan (i think 53CFM) on it would this be better or worse in terms of cooling, thanks.

correct me if i'm wrong i don't think there is a 80mm sunon that does 53cfm and is quiter than 46dbl. i think there is a 80mm at 43cfm with 36dbl.

i said i wasn't sure about if it was 53 CFM (i know it was a lot quieter than the delta) or not i was just wondering if using this fan instead of a delta would be quieter/cooler. Thanks

Sunon does not make very loud 60mm fans. Their noisiest(sp?) fan is the

Maybe quieter but not better. As far as I know (which isn't much🙂) there is no fan that cools better than the Delta. It comes at a price but it does the job better than any other fan, right? IMHO if you want a quieter fan you will have to sacrifice some performance.

Thats not true any fan that pushs more CFM then the delta should cool better(keep reading). The problem with this is, that if you mount a quieter, yet still powerfull 80mm fan on your HS, there will be a bigger void(becuase the motor is bigger in 80mm fans) over the die of the CPU, this may cause it to do a worse job of cooling then the delta. My suggestion would be to try and find a way to mount two 60mm fans side by side on top of the HS, that should cool better and quiester.
