Anyone know of any 939 boards with 6 or 8 DDR sockets? I am using VMware and need more than 4GB of ram (currently 4x1GB).

Even if there was, you would need to use ALL registered DIMMs and an Opteron based processor. S939 processors are spec'd to a maximum of 4 unbuffered DIMMs.

Can't be done. 939 supports unbuffered DIMMs only, and with the longer signal paths of dual-channel layouts, that means no more than two DIMMs per channel, and no more than 18 chips per DIMM.

For more DIMM slots, you need a socket-940 Opteron. There are boards that have eight DIMM slots per CPU - but you could also use a more normal Dual-Opteron board with four slots each. You'll need Registered ECC DIMMs then.

Some 939 boards offer support for more RAM (e.g. abit AN8 32X is 16Gb iirc) but they still only have 4 slots.
