Ok, If I were someone who wanted to buy a Socket 939 CPU that was just released, where would I go? Any places actually have that stuff online available to buy? I just want to see how much they cost (Not in the 1,000 quantity, but for a single CPU). Also, since this is a limited yield (50,000 I think), how long do you think until they are sold out?

Not to say you're wrong for chosing socket 939... but I'm going to get a socket 754 setup now that I've seen the performance difference between the two. The ONLY way I'd buy a socket 939 setup is if the price was comparable to socket 754, which it won't be. I'll probably wait a while for socket 939 to drive down socket 754 prices, then pick up a motherboard that's overclocker friendly, and processor with 1 MB L2 cache and overclock it. 2.4 GHz isn't unreasonable right now... maybe as time goes by, 2.6 will be fairly common.

Only way technologies catch on is if there are early adopters :)

Let's ignore the whole 754 vs. 939...

I just wanna know where I could get one of these if I wanted one (not 100% sure yet, but certainly considering it)

Even if you do manage to get a 939 I dont think they even have the boards out for them. Yes, I agree its price is just stupid.

Newegg has all the procs (including 3700) in stock except for the 939 pin FX-53? They only have the 940 pin model?
