I am looking for a Motherboard that has At least 1 PCI-X slot (2 would be Ideal) and Has PCI-Express? Oh, It must be a socket 939. I have looked everywhere with no luck.

Please help. Thanks.

PCI-X is for server motherboards...

I know that but many of your standard PCI cards can take advantage of PCI-X's higher clockspeed/bandwith

Here are some examples:
This card can take advantage of PCI-X and will run at 66Mhz (vs 33MHz)

1284 Parallel Printer for PCI-X or PCI-Legacy

This Card Cannot Take Advantage of PCI-X, notice the Notches are differant the one in the front is missing (front one is needed for 3.3v/66mhz operation).

I have several PCI-X Cards but I run them in a 32bit 33MHz Slot with some extra PCB connections hanging over the edge. Some PCI-X Cards are reverse compatable with PCI-Legacy.
This one can be run in either 32bit or 64bit slot at 33 or 66MHz

A lot of the newer stuff is only for PCI-X and will not fit or run in a PCI-Legacy slot
Notice the Tab is missing in the middle of the card. Compaire to the other PCI-X cards I showed you. This Card is not Compatable with PCI Legacy

And this is the reason for my search.

I think you're going to be stuck with Opteron and Socket 940 until the S939 Opteron 1xx series becomes more prevalent.

I ran into the same problem. I'm just going to build a seperate gaming machine, and keep my server for storage. I'm not dumping the $400 PCI-X RAID controller to run some crap on PCI. :)
Tas.

Hopefuly Motherboard Makers are listening to us. We want PCI-X now! The only board I can think of that comes close is the DFI ( I think DFI) Pentium M board. Socket 479.

Such motherboards do exist, but in a Socket 940 varitey (nForce PRO). SAS is no doubt the future but the Latest offering from LSI is in PCI-X variety Only, meanwhile there latest legacy scsi controller is PCI-Express (Odd?). PCI-X is also a great way of breathing new life into the old bus and some 32bit peripherals (NIC's, Sound Blaster Audigy, Drive Controllers, etc). PCI-express will still be around for another 8-9 years and you will still be able to buy new products that use the interface for the next 7-8 years (No doubt)

x2 x16 PCI-e full x16 on both
and x2 PCI-X
Unfortunately it?s a dual 940 board

I knew about that one. But it would require me to use Registered ECC DDR (performance killer) and Registered ECC is not something I really need. Also Opterons do not have the Price to performance ratio that Athlon's have. I want an Athlon64 Dual Core DDR with PCI-X, It would provide this dying bus with a new lease on life.
