socket 939 motherboard for 3d modelling / CAD

Hello,

Please help me decide a setup for CAD / 3d modelling based on 939 platform

I use my system for
video editing and dvd authoring ( from camcroder)
Editing digital photographs
occassionally to play low to moderately graphic intensive games

Now , I am learning do 3d modelling and animation using Maya learning edition. To pursue it seriously the system will need a workstation class graphics card.
I thought of upgrading to ATI radeon xpress 200 based mb and add a pci express workstation graphics cars ( ATI v3200 etc ) later

How does the forum view ATI radeon xpress 200 based motherboards? especially MSI RS 480M2-IL ? Will it be stable enough for my requirements ?
