Its been awhile since I built my own computer in fact this used to be mine. So I have been out of the mobo lingo loop for a while. What I want is a simple mother board replacement. Cant seem to find anymore socket 939 boards and kind of confused about the new sockets.

Basically are are the newer AMD boards backward compatible to the socket 939? (wishful thinking I know) I don't want to buy another cpu and memory so would like a compatible mobo.

Suggestions? clarifications?

I tried to search the for sale forum did not come up with anything will probably post a WTB add over there.

You'll need a Socket939 motherboard if you want to keep your CPU.

Asus a8v-x is on ebay for $56.99 with free shipping. It has an agp slot like your old board.
