Im guessing not as AM2 provides support for DDR2.

So.....

Is there a AM2 / AGP / DDR2 mobo available out there?

Reason I ask is I have a perfectly capable Gainward Bliss 7800 GS+ AGP card, approx 10 mths old.

I incorrectly ordered PC2 6400 DDR2 memory, and cannot find anywhere matched pairs of 2x1gb PC3200 184pin memory for my current rig. Im going to Vista hence the requirement.

Im happy to upgrade CPU to a AM2 6000+ right now, as its only going to cost about £150 mobo included if there is such a board with AGP.

I didnt really want to have to buy a new vid card right now, as was waiting.

Do I just suck it and hold on to the PC2 6400 until I rebuild or RMA and run on 2gb on Vista?

Idea's pls......

Thanks

Vin

Your only option for AM2 with AGP would be a 8KM800 chipset MB. Both Biostar and MSI make one, Newegg here in the states has them, not sure who on your side of the pond will carry them. If a mATX board will suffice for now they are both inexpensive, and might tide you over until you go with a PCIe board.

SUCK IT! (hey, he asked that as an option for us to answer :) )

but seriously, hold the PC2 6400 if only for the reason that prices are so low now you'll likely be able to resell it for at least as much in a few months.

and just live with the fact that you need to lose the AGP. I'm in the same boat. My next upgrade will be almost no reuse - cpu, mobo, ram, video card, psu will all have to be replaced, and my hd's are about 2 computers old now and should probably be replaced as well. I think I'll be able to retain my sound card at least :) More than likely I'll try to sell the entire system minus sound card.
