Socket 939 Advice

Building soon and the only component i keep wavering on is the MOBO. Plan on going with x2 4400+. No need for SLI and no plans to OC. Want a stable board with USB, SATA3G, Firewire... Advice?

Have been considering:

DFI Lan Party UT NForce4 Ultra-D
DFI NF4 Ultra Infinity

SLI but reasonably priced:

Abit KN8 SLI nF4
Asus A8N-SLI NForce4
Gigabyte GA-K8N PRO-SLI NF4 SLI

Also with no OCing but most likely a 7900GT, would the retail HSF be sufficient or is it worth it to upgrade?

Thanks

I don't really have any opinions on those boards (never really researched PCI-E only boards myself), but if you're not going to be overclocking (and even if you will be a bit), the retail heatsink that comes with the higher end X2's is actually pretty good...heatpipes and all. It should be quite sufficient, and I wouldn't worry about upgrading it especially if you're just going to run at stock.

i am researching the same thing right now and believe for non SLI Asus A8N-E looks like the board to go with. lot of nice reviews on newegg for it. oops no firewire on that mobo, sorry

My experience with the ASUS A8N-E is not good.

3 NB fan failures
2 Bios Failures (during flashes)
Bios issues currently that I'm working around, but am afraid to flash.
