Someone around here was hitting 325MHz system bus with the Abit, about as high as the DFI boards can get (talking about socket 754).

Either one would be a good choice for overclocking. If not overclocking, why waste the extra money? Get the cheapest board with the features you want... then again these Semprons are begging to be overclocked. Look, I'm leaning over mine right now and I can hear it... "overclock me... overclock me... overclock me..."
 
Heh, I just recently got an ECS NFORCE3-A board from a Fry's deal and it works fine. No BIOS support for over 250MHz system bus but it seems fine pegged at that speed. Is the NFORCE4-A754 board similar?
 
The NF4-A754 is very similar to the NF4-A939 (except in the processor and RAM area, obviously). I have used both, but I can't comment on the NF3 boards at all.
 
Thanks for the info. I have both the NFORCE3-A and NFORCE4-A939 (see my mini reviews in this category). Both have up to 250MHz system bus (which works without breaking a sweat) and both have vcore and vDIMM adjustments, but the socket 939 board has much more options (not that any were needed in my case). Where does the NFORCE4-A754 fall? The NFORCE3-A had only three or so vcore options in plus percentages while the NFORCE4-A939 had up to +375mV in 25mV increments.

I found an Epox board for $72 at the egg, I only need one PCIE slot since i am definatly not going to SLI. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813123255 theres the link to it, its $3 cheaper than the DFI. I figured on spending around $75, so is this better than the DFI? I want a nice stable board, since i have a cheapie now and its been giving me trouble. I've heard good stuff about Epox on AT, and in the forums, so i assume its pretty decent. Also, i will most likely be overclocking, since i have a sempron 3000+, and I'm gonna get a 7800GT which will be limited by the Sempron somewhat. Anyone have experiece with DFI or Epox support/RMA? I' ve had a couple bad RMA experiences, so I wouldnt mind paying a little for a board with good support.

i have that exact setup. amd a64 s754 3200+, asus k8n-e deluxe and 9800 pro. just do what im doing, sell those 3 and get a s939 3200+ venice, dfi ultra-d, and sapphire x800 gto2, oc that stuff and ur set.
