socket 754...socket a?

so i ordered an 2600+ sempron


it has a silver top...all the other cpu's i have ordered had like a silver square in the center of the cpu.

can this socket 754 fit in my socket a (abit nf7) mobo?

Yeah, if that's what you did then you're out of luck.

You should be able to RMA it though or exchange it.

If you bought it from newegg, call them and let them know what happened. They might waive the restocking fee for you.
