The best S754 mobo below $90 is the Soltek K8AN2E-GR nForce3 250Gb. $85 at NewEgg. Secondarily, the Biostar KHNA Grand is also very good, and in the $70 range. Another very good pick, and the least expensive of all, but does not come with as many bells and whistles, is the EPoX 8KDA3I and J series, the I version is $64.50 at NewEgg, but lacks the Gb chipset and uses only the nForce3 250. Beware on the EPoX mobos that they are following AMD's recommendations to the letter and if you use more than two one double-sided DIMM you will have memory running at 333Mhz instead of 400Mhz. If you plan to use only 512Mb, this poses no problems on the EPoX mobos.

Asrock Combo... both 939 and 754 in the same board, a fantastic choice and great upgrade options.

Thanks for pointing this out McArra. The ULIM1689 mobos are apparently doing quite well, and they are getting more and more reviews. Madshrimps recently reviewed one. I have been waiting for yet more reviews on this chipset and associated mobos before recommending them. Chaintech has one that is for S939 and Albatron has one for S754, and both appear to be good boards, but I will not recommend them just yet. The AsRock mobos are also using the ULIM1689 chipset and appear to be getting good press on NewEgg in the reviews section, and OCWORKBENCH reviewed both the Combo-Z and Upgrade versions of these mobos. Still, I am waiting on more data.

The Combo version is being vey sold in the shop I usually buy and zero problems so far, seems to be a very stable board.
