Socket 753...

Well,

I used to much AS5 on my socket 754 cpu and when I pulled off the heatsink (for no good reason) it ripped the CPU right out of the socket. I ended up breaking 1 little pin and did a little research online. Turns out it was just a ground pin.

So...

My CPU has been working flawlessly ever since for the last 2 weeks. Should I be concerned about anything melting or blowing up?

broken pins is not lucky at 1st o_O

I experience pulling out the CPU directly too, thank god I didn't get any pin bent or broken

Yea. Bending CPU pins back into place is not fun. That's how I broke the pin to begin with. Forget about needle nose pliars. I used the tip of a small knife and a toothpick.

Hopefully I don't have to pull the cpu off the motherboard again anytime soon. I'm just glad I don't have to worry about shorting something out or frying anything. That seems to be the consensus.

I suspect if you left the pin in the socket things would still be ok to :)
