Socket 478

Hi, my motherboard died (Abit IC7 Max3) and I would like to replace it but my CPU is old. Would anyone have a suggestion on a new MB?
My rig
P4 2.8 socket 478
GeForce 6800gt AGP
4 gig DDR 3200 memory
Creative Sound Card
Lian Li Alum ATX case
Corsair 400w PSU
I will not be overclocking or doing anything wacky, just game a little and listen to music.
I don't suppose there are to many of these boards out there any more.
Any suggestions you care to share would be greatly appreciated

Well you can't buy Socket 478 motherboards new anymore but you can still buy a new OEM processor

Pentium 4 Prescott 3.0 GHz Socket 478

you could get this and then look for a cheap used board on eBay.

I would hold off on upgrading your system until AFTER October when Windows 7 comes out.

I have the cpu..I need a motherboard. What kind of used 478 board would be worth looking for ?

Computer Geeks has 4 socket 478 boards. 3 are 865 chipsets with 4 dimm slots, but are refurbished. One is a new board with via chipset. I'd go for the 865.

still running my ic7 max 3 and playing Starcraft 2 on it and still performs like a champ for basic web browsing and got win xp pro on it. 2 gigs of Corsair XMS and 3.2 prescott cpu running at 2800. Need help with overclocking the ram though but other than that it still good
