Hi, im currently purchasing a koolance computer, and unfortunately they do not support socket a processors. So, is there any chacne anyone knows where I can purcahse a very good socket 462 mobo and a socket 462 amd athlon xp, from what I am being told by Koolance the socket 462 athlon xp 1900 + exists. Although i've never heard of it in the past.

Umm... I think either you or Koolance is very confused as Socket462 IS SocketA.
The are one and the same, Socket462 is simply another term for SocketA.

ALL AthlonXP's are SocketA/Socket462.

Koolance is a little messed up if they claim SocketA is not supported by Socket462 is supported. That's like saying they support the AthlonXP, but they don't support the AthlonXP.... their the same thing! 😉

just goes to show how stupid I am.

Thanks alot guys, I was actually thinking of not getting that thing because I couldnt find anything with socket 462. Thanks again 🙂

I just recently purchased a socket a(socket 462) soyo dragon plus and it will fit my duron 600. I put in an xp 1600. works great. everyone is correct they are one and the same. You want to take advantage of the Athlon xp's abilities and put in a good motherboard. soyo, msi and several others are able to take advantage of higher sidebus speeds and quicker ram. Good luck with your system.
