Hello people.

I want to know if yours can help me to find a Dual 370 socket for pentium 3 (i believe that are copermine, 933mhz with 256 KB of L2).
I have preferences for ddr memory, but i don't know a lot of about dual chipsets..

Thanx

The Iwill DVD266-R is the only solution I know of for your application. There is a non RAID verison as well but it's nice to have the option even if you don't need it today.

Just to LYK DDR doesn't help the P3's that much. They don't require the extra bandwidth provided.

If you want to get out cheaply,... look at an Abit VP6. It uses SDR, but it's a very decent mobo.

Also, check out this site.

The ECS D6VAA is a nice SDR dual PIII board as well. I used one of those as well as 2 MSI dual PIII boards and I liked the ECS board better.

LINKAGE

That's a representative review from 2cpu.com. I agree with Scooter, go there. It's the best place for dedicated multiproc computer info on the web.

hehehe..

nice really nice.

One question, ok is true (and i knew it) that the p3 don't require the bandwidth of the DDR memory, but right now is not better buy DDR (because is more cheaper of the same prices of sdram) and also use it in future boards???

some more link???

also guys, do i also need are the links for where to buy those boards...

i'm searching right now, but i can't find it...
i will still searching for it's

Sorry but that is wrong. A SINGLE P3 will not do much with DDR, But Dual P3's will. But also depends on what you are doing, software wise etc...

But your best bang for your buck would have to be a Dual Athlon setup. Much more power than a P3 setup and about the same cost when you see you can get a Athlon 1700+ for around $50 each.

Are the steppings of the P3's the same. You can run mixed Athlons but NOT p3's.

If they are the same, then look for a 694T chipset that uses DDR. Like the Iwill DVD266-R, that SeekingTao showed. Or even the MSI PRO266TD

There are codes called steppings, something like sl365 will be on the chip itself. If they don't match they might not work. best to ask someone at www.2cpu.com. I deal mostly in Dual Athlons now, and did some work on some XEON setups, but can't remember if you can run mismatched P3's on a VIA 694T chipset.

NO. The stepping is like what machince or day they were made. Just because they are both XYZmhz does NOT mean they are the same stepping.

No the stepping is written right on the chip.

Write everything that is on the chip here and I can tell you if they match or not. But chances are they don't if you did not buy them like that.

SL52Q is the stepping. Looks like both are of the same stepping and you should be fine.

Yea if you read them right then you look like you are good to go. Just find a good Dual VIA 694T DDR board and rock it out :)

Yea the MSI Board yu linked to is a good one. It uses DDR and should also support up to the 1.4Ghz P3's.

Also it has Raid, and I think sound
