Has anyone ever looked at this to see how many of these qualities they posess?

http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html

Out of curiosity and a need to know I started looking up the qualities of a sociopath. I am simply amazed by how many of those qualities I posess. With the exception of infidelity or not being faithful and any type of physical abuse or abuse to animals, I posess a vast of amount of those qualities.

It was actually kind of shocking to me as I read the list and did an honest self assesment. Not sure what else to say...

Wow this fit the attributes of someone I know pretty much exactly, everything except abuse to animals and sexual behavior. The scary part is that since the person in question is in their 40's, from that treatment section there is nothing that can be done...

I'm not talking about having some of the qualities, more like having the majority of the qualities.

I've been a sociopath for a while. Some of those qualities are spot on, some aren't (for me at least).

I used to have one of those in my life. Now that he's gone, life is good. :)

A quick look at your post history shows, "I care," "I care," "I care." You may be particular about who you care about and only lazily process responses to those on the outskirts, but that doesn't make you a sociopath.

I envy you. My little sister is the psychopath and has got my dad supporting her in everything, so as long as I want to have anything to do with him I can't completely rid her from my life.

There are plenty of degrees of sociopath; it's not an all-or-nothing thing. I even specifically SAID that some of the listed qualities don't pertain to me, but some do. For example, one of the points is "incapacity for love" and that one definitely doesn't apply to me. However, the lack of empathy one does, especially for people I don't know.

I don't think I have but one or two of those. That might be how a sociopath would see it though...

Don't have any of those. When I was 12 I used to think that I did and would always brag about getting the highest score possible for "Anti-social" on those online "Wot ist your mental disorder?" quizzes, but tbh I'm like the exact opposite.

EDIT: Well, ok, I have no friends, but aside from that...

I found this interesting. In the comments section someone nicknamed Asshe posted:

The scary thing about articles like this is that based on what’s written here, many people I know would class me as a psychopath – but I know I’m not one. Hope nobody spooks at shadows!

He (or she) knows that they are not one. Like the article says they see themselves as victims, and blame others. Incapable of understanding themselves.

The problem with psychopath tests is that psychopaths are good actors. So the test covers a wide range of possible states that a psychopath might be able to easily cover. But then the net is too wide and normal people get caught into it. And once you're a psychopath, any aberrant or 'unusual' behavior can be explained by the rationale that you're a psychopath, you're just doing that to try to manipulate the people around you.

Just like Freud and his repressed memories.

Wanna bet...

If you want to be viewed as a sociopath so badly, it's because you aren't one. You just want to be loved and without that, you lash out in anger. But it isn't a simmering sociopathic anger. It's the sadness of a man who hates himself for what he is, and no sociopath would do that.

They don't. In your depressed, self-conscious emotional cocoon you misinterpret signals from others as being negative. It's like the child that beats himself when his mother compliments him because he is certain that he is incapable of no good and that she was just saying that to be nice. The only person that thinks you're a sociopath is you.
