Social Spies. Not secrets, social change!

I've seen a lot of talk on various forums about the ineptitude of the 10 (11?) "unregistered" agents recently arrested and then traded for four of our own spies imprisoned in Russia.

The trend seems to be "what the heck were they spying for?", did they steal government secrets? How about this????

Their purpose is not to do espionage per se, but to foment social change. The 10 caught (after 10 years of surveillance) may be but the tip of the iceberg. They became hard accepted "good ol" American citizens. No one they interacted with had a clue that they were actually Russian agents.

Those of you who so vehemently support the bloggers and Becks and that tall skinny Blonde should think twice before you swallow their diatribe. If you can't see the pure anti-government line in all that they say and do you are simply turning a blind eye. The Limbaugh's (sic) flooding the airwaves with the same message should be given a second look also.

The election of Barack Hussien Obama to the presidency has given them new working capital that can be easily disguised as subtle (?) racism. They could give a fig about race. Their target is the American Democratic way of life.

Clamoring for a birth certificate are you? What would it really prove? Where was Glen Beck born? Are you sure? Is every talking head on FOX an American citizen? Every republican naysayer?

Russia is definitely not a dumb goverment. They would not spend buckets of money to run rings of spies to spy on nothing. If that group of ten "worked" for ten years - how many others are there that have been in place for ten years or even longer?

They essence of spycraft is recruiting others to tell you secrets of your target government.
That skill of "socialability" is paramount. What better place for "social actions" than FaceBook.

If you call yourself a true patriot, these recent arrests and revelations should set off alarm bells in your life. How many others are there and how many of those who constantly attack our way of life and our government are truly Americans.

How many true Americans have been recruited to support what has become a strong antigovernment movement in America? Tea perty anyone?

If "social government insurection" is successful - - - what will take its place?

A note to all. I am not going to argue with you. Chew on it, swallow it, or spit it out. This is a free country after all.

I never ever read your posts anyways......
What you stated makes no sense at all.
You are not privy to any information that the general public does not have,

You can chew that if you wish...
Opinions are like ass holes...everyone has one....chew on that..

Wow, this seems to be McCarthy level paranoia, but at the opposite end of the spectrum, impressive.

Well, CNN and MSNBC must have been Russian agencies set up to subvert the US population against their neocon government during the Bush years, guess they switched to Rush and Beck once the lefties took control?

The election of Barack Hussien Obama to the presidency has given them new working capital that can be easily disguised as subtle (?) racism.
Mandatory Anti-Obama = Racism argument from a lefty, check. Do not worry, right-wingers will use the race card in the next anti-Israel thread.

Or AT P&N, we have members of fascist, Marxist and Maoist political movements, in addition to senior Hamas and North Korean propaganda officials.

How many true Americans have been recruited to support what has become a strong antigovernment movement in America? Tea perty anyone?
Tea Party = Russian scheme to destroy the United States. Not sure if Russia would want to replace a left wing leader like Obama who wants to "push the reset button" on relations with them with a right-wing, strongly nationalist / militarist tea-partier.

The guest I saw on Rachel Maddow opined that the 10 were largely for giving Russia insights into the American people, who they do not understand much.

Every now and then, someone like the OP comes along to remind me just how ignorant most civilians are when it comes to matters of State.

So... umm... thank you?

There was a spy novelist on Dateline last night who came up with the best hypothesis in my view. We know this ring started sometime in the 1990s, after the fall of USSR and during the social and poltical turmoil that was Yeltsin's term. The KGB was no longer and a new agency took over. The author's hypothesis-someone in that agency, in order to keep their job, came up with the idea of a deep cover, long term US spy campaign. As job preservation it is perfect-because it is long term he didn't have to show any results.

The only other plausible explanation I can think of is that it was all a PR stunt for the hottie-but hey, that's why I was watching the Dateline show in the first place.

All in all though, I agree with the Huh? response to the OP's bizarro theory.

Actually, most of Russia's government is incredibly stupid and lazy - to a level that would put any first world nation's bureaucrats to shame.

Why would Russians be attacking the American democratic way of life? Take a look at a calendar, gramps. That battle was fought decades ago - Communism lost, and everyone knows it.

Hilarious, as the last bastion of right-wing thinking pathetically sinks under tons of it's own debt and it's own childish ideology the blindly ignorant and steadfast true believers in the free market corporatist religion hang on till the end.

A true believer, bless you follower of Greed. Now, to the apocalypse!

Steeplerot, jerking off over Stalin's corpse isn't going to bring him back to life, so quit trying.
