Socal snowboarding

I've been to Summit and Bear before when it was about 50-55 degrees. I'm checking the weather now and it will be 64 degrees at Big Bear Lake tomorrow. That seems a bit extreme to me. Does anyone have experience boarding at that temperature? I'm wondering about the snow conditions, how slushy it would be, and if it would really mess up speeds. I found a base temp of 55 lead to tolerable/decent conditions but I'm skeptical about 64...

hmmm...my gf is from california. She doesn't go snowboarding when it's snowing. So, thats californians for ya. My take is, ice sucks...powder is good...slush is ok if you don't mind getting wet.

There will be puddles(and slush) all over the mountain because of the temperature...but nothing beats snowboarding in snowpants and a t-shirt. it's great 🙂

it will be slushy and slow, but i think it's better than icy and hard... and you will be hot, so make sure you hydrate regularly... don't forget the sunscreen!

You'll see a lot of brown spots (parts where the snow machine didn't cover) and its going to real wet. It gets hot at the high of an altitude so just wear your snowboard pants and Tshirt and gloves. You won't need a jacket unless you like sweating.

I have no idea what the conditions are over there, but lately the slopes in Vancouver, BC have been having pouring rain, and its made the skiing/boarding quite dangerous due to all the exposed rocks. What's more likely is getting some serious scratches on your board. Terrible...
