I searched their FAQ, the Anandtech info on it in the sticky, etc.

I want to get an idea how manys cEMS a Pentium 4 2.8C could complete in a day. Also, if I decide to run this, should I also be running two processes since my cpu has hyper threading?

The client comes with a installer to run the client as a service. One of the optional switches for the service installer is to automatically detect HT and run as many processes as necessary to yeild the greatest performance.

I don't have any P4's but I'd say a 2.8Ghz P4 would do around 500cEMs.

I'm not sure on the notation but the stats have it as "cEMs".

Hey AgoBooga 🙂

Narzy has a 3.2GHz P4 with HT, and that's getting about 750k cEMs/sec, so I reckon your 2.8 will be about 650-700kcEMs/sec 🙂

To make use of HT, you will need to use the service installer 🙂 Do the following:

[*]Install the client using the installer, and enter your username/team (either as a new user, or existing in the Config)
[*]Go into the Config of the client, and make sure "Auto start on Windows boot" is unchecked
[*]Close the client, and restart your computer - DO NOT PRESS "START" <--- If you press "Start" before restarting, then when you restart you may lose your work done so far when you do restart the PC
[*]Open up a command prompt in C:\Program Files\SB
[*]Type the following on their own line (press enter after each):
sobsvc -i
sobsvc -x
sobsvc -m
sobsvc -s
sobsvc -o2
net start "seventeen or bust service"

This should then open up 2 instances of the client, which will start working on different k/n pairs 🙂

If you do not wish to have the icons visible in the tray, go to start -> run, and type in services.msc, and find Seventeen or Bust, and under "Logon", uncheck "Allow this service to interact with the desktop".

However, if you always want the tray icons, you can add the line sobsvc -k[/l] to the commands listed above when you are installing 🙂

If you need any more help, just let me know 🙂
