Is anyone in here using the new beta's that are out?
I just installed the 2.5.08 beta. It seems to be a bit of a speed improvement over the previous version.
My p4 3.0 hyperthread was doing around 1.25 per "half" of the proc for around 2.5 total. Now the output is around 1.45 per core. so unless my math is incorrect(which it usually is) thats around a 16% speed-up.
clients read ~1450000.0
before ~1250000.0

Well after hours of wonderment, I finally fixed it and I lost two huge blocks in the process, one was completed and the other was at %94 :|
Here's what happened. Java has a line in startup called
c:\program files\java\jre1.6.0_03\jusched.exe
This is a scheduler for Java to check for updates, which it did yesterday and it installed java 1.6.0_05
This version in turned screwed up SBQueue.jar which is my SoB Queue.
For some reason, this screwed it all up and blocked my queue, and even with it turned off my my clients were not able to communicated with the SoB server because they kept getting block denied (most likely because it was waiting for SBQ to submit the block).
At least Java does one thing right, when you install new versions it doesn't un-install previous versions, if you uninstall version _05 and reboot it will use the previous _03 version which works with SBQueue.
I think I was getting Block Denied because SBQ was doing the work and the client could not get a new block until it either submitted the block or deleted it.
All this to say that if your running SBQ don't update to java 1.6.0_05 because I'm quite sure your queue will no longer work.
Damm you Java
