SoB MTR Teams & new start date 2nd

Well, the teams are ready .

Check your team and go make names.

Rules from SETI but will be probably the same for us :

1. The MTR starts Tuesday, 11/2 , time yet unknown.

2. The MTR ends 12/16. The same time as started.

4. No sandbagging before the race. All Queues should be flushed prior to the start of the race.

5. Assimilations, dumps, etc. are allowed during the race, the more the merrier!

6. Friendly trash talking is not only ok, it's encouraged! Just remember that we are all teammates!

7. I'm open to any and all suggestions/comments. simply write them on a piece of paper, attach to a $20.00 bill, and mail to me.

Well, I guess I'd better jump in now, before the teams are set in stone (you did say we had 'til the 28th, right?) I can't do much more than .2 WU/day, and probably will do less, but I don't want to be left out in case things get better.

Besides picking names, teams should also pick a color.

I can't fully abide by rule #4 above. I don't purposefully sandbag, but I don't submit intermediate blocks because (a) I like it when my machines don't hang, and (b) a good number of them don't have a connection to the outside world.

Also, for those of you that can't see it:

Yes, Im not yet so familiar with SoB, but I mean that you shouldnt purposefully sandbag.

Yes, Im not yet so familiar with SoB, but I mean that you shouldnt purposefully sandbag.

Are we all going to follow the Captain's example and set names for our teams, or stick with the numbers? "Number 3" seems a bit impersonal to me.

I have a question regarding the assimlation's and all that...

Can I assimilate rigs now even thought the teams are already made? Or must I wait until it starts? I'm helping my friend build his Dual Opteron system, its not up yet, but it'll be up before the race starts. So am I allowed to Assimilate it now?

Yes, thought, if you assimilate now people can see your performance before the start of the MTR . Not necesarely a bad thing.
