Well... potentially. One of the local radio stations, The Wolf, has a gimmick to get people to listen. In the morning, they call a listener's name. The name they call is someone who's a member of their website, email subscription thingy, or whatever. I signed up with them a long time ago, before they changed from KWJJ to The Wolf.
Essentially, when someone's name is called, they have 10 minutes to call in. If they do, they win $100. If they don't, the radio hosts will call someone else's name. The next hour, when the radio personalities decide, they say "...um OKAY CALL IN NOW!" at random (only once per hour and always within the hour). The person who's name was called has to call in within 10 minutes again. If they do, they win another $100.
Anyway, I went to work this morning for the first time since the middle of February. What did I miss? Pwning n00bs on AT, sleeping in, and my name being called. My friend Jenny called my house phone, but she didn't know that my first day of work was today. She sent me an email, but the ONLY email address that I didn't check today was the address that she sent me the email about.
GRR!!
But I'm very thankful for my job and wouldn't trade all the potential of gainful employment with my company for a single day's winnings of $800. It's just disappointing that I could have done both and missed out on the opportunity.
