I should have 5 xp 2000+'s up and running tomorrow

and the guy at the office is thinking about adding a few more machines already.. and i havent even gotten these 5 networked yet! Man I love ppl with money to buy machines. Altho these machines are pretty cheap.. running $399+tax for complete systems including monitor...

I put SB on one of the machines I was configuring to run at work.

There's 3 Dell P4 1.7's around in Accounts, will go install SB on them sometime early next week 🙂 Oh the advantages of being one half of the IT department for 3 hospitals 🙂

I'm finding myself in good ways of coming up on machines to run SOB on by knowing ppl in the real estate game.. My job is a freelance pc tech, and im getting tossed around from one brokerage to another doing upgrades/installs/meaintenance.. good money and good cpu power 🙂

Thanks everyone.. I'm working on figuring out how to get multiple clients to run on all my p4s by using the HT ability.. although.. i'm not sure what commands to enter in what order for the service config to use HT.. i posted a reply to the running 2 instances of sob on a p4 or such that was posted yetserday.. so if anyone can help me out..reply over there.. it should up our stats a lot if i can get that figured out.. we're talking installing dual clients on like 30 p4 2.4ghz cpu's..

I wish you good luck on that venture. I have a feeling, however, that your results might not be a great as you might hope. On my dual 2.4 Xeons, the memory bandwidth is choked when running two clients, to the point that it is almost purely serial (i.e., the rate on each process drops to half its nominal rate). But it would be nice if some how HT works for you.

MM: that's the way it seemed on my dual 1.1ghz p3 box also.. i was just going to try it on my p4s but it seems i can't enable HT in bios nor can I find any reference on it for the computers I have.. AcerPower SP p4 2.4ghz
