I posted this in yesterday's stats thread so the numbers aren't the same, but the question still is 😉:

Hey Garry, how do you calculate the overtake stat?

I'm asking because it says one day for me to catch the next guy but the simple math doesn't corroborate that:

Current difference in score: 19.765
Current difference in daily rate: 14.736

By looking at that it will take me more than one day to pass. Or am I reading it wrong?

Bunker,

The script currently takes the difference in total work, divided by the difference in last day's rate (work/time), inverts it (as the value will otherwise be negative) and takes the Integer Value of the result. This means that it ignores totally what happens after the decimal point, so 1.01 or 1.98 becomes 1. So, that means it could take 24hrs and 1 minute, or 47hrs and 59 minutes to overtake, and the value it gives will still be correct.

However, now that you have mentioned this, i shall change it to take the rounded value. Now I just need to decide how accurate to go! 1 DP or 2DP? So 1.4 or 1.44 days for me to pass MereMortal? 😉

I have to attribute that increase to PeterN, who is running SoB under my name as part of "The Federation", so as to not have too many accounts for The Feds on too many projects.

I sent an email to David (MereMortal) on Sunday, when I was playing with the stats script, but I haven't heard anything back yet 🙁 When i have contacted him before, i got a response within a few hours 😱 What's up mate!? I don't want to pass you without too much effort!
