Sorry to ask so many questions.
If I restart my PC and SOB starts running again does it save or cache my previous work?
I notice "blks done" resets to "0".
Also, can I run on 2 PC,s?
I can only connect them one at a time to the web as of now.

I'm not positive on how the cache works, but the blks done resets to 0 every time SoB is closed out or when you restart your computer. You can run it on 2 PC's, I am running it on 7 computers right now

and winr...yes when you restart your computer, the test picks up right where it left off, but the blocks done counter does reset as lynx said

Thanks for the stats. I just took another 10 billion range in the sob sieve so my stats will be low, but if sieve stats ever come out I guess I'll have a head start on everybody

I'm a little dissapointed that Athlons don't perform on par with Pentium 4's. I've heard people say single P4's are going at like 300k/sec but my dual 1800+ is only doing about 250k/sec. Not sure how long I' stick with it on the Athlons.

ARe you running the regular and the smp client?

Yes, I'm running both clients at the same time and getting 100% CPU utilization. Each client is only doing about 125k/sec.

My XP1800 (1.53GHz) is currently doing 120k cEMs/sec.

My P4 2.4@2.92 is currently doing 250k cEMs/sec.

That means that the P4, at double the clock speed, is doing about double the work of the AthlonXP. This is one project where the high clockspeed of the P4 is useful. Also, the SoB client uses the SSE2 extensions, which the P4 was optomised, and designed for.

So, on comparison, your Dual 1800+ (at just over 3GHz total clock speed) is doing about the same work as a just under 3GHz P4, with about 150MHz difference between the total clock speeds.

I don't think i've ever seen any cEMs/sec of over about 260k, and that was with an n of just under 3million.
