SoB: Client doesn't always transmit

Does anyone else have this problem? Sometimes my client will sit there with 00s left on the block and not transmit. If I exit out and get back in and let it start where it left off it's usually fine and connects. 😕

i have seen this
and i think there are threads about it on the SoB forum
i think the concensus is you have to watch it and do as you say, stop/start it

hopefully a ver. 1.1 or 2 or 1.5 or whatever may address it, but i have no idea on when that would be

I usually notice a drop in my daily stats and figure out which rig it is, but some rigs I rarely get to such as my sisters and some of my friends' computers. I hope they fix it too!

When I experience that problem I have to reboot my computer. It will say that it is 100% done, but upon reboot it normally gives a 90% area range...

There are multiple errors.

The two primary culprits are the Linux segmentation fault (which is a known bug but doesn't appear to be close to being fixed) and the windows networking/open sockets bug.

The open sockets bug is intermittent and hard to pin down, though the more people run the client the more complaints pop-up. Mathguy, who wrote the service package, has been trying to pin down the different problems which can cause hangs on Windows systems so that he can hopefully find a way to monitor for them from within his service app and restart the client if needed. The problem is that none of his systems happen to do it. Anyone who experiences these problems and is an experienced trouble-shooter with a bit of free-time should definitely consider dropping by the official forum and see about contacting Mathguy and/or posting relevant log files and information in the threads discussing these issues.

From what I hear it is a problem that only affects Windows 98/ME.

The rig I have the problem on is Windows 2000 Professional 😕

Thats strange. My laptop has Windows 2K Pro on it and the SoB client has never hung on it. In fact it has been going for over 75 hours straight at the moment with no problems (never shut it off🙂).
