The throat sprays and cough drops don't work.

I've never lost my voice before. How long does this usually last? Anything I should do to help make it better faster?

is this because you've been yelling too much at the AOL callers?

some remedies i can think of at the top of my head:
1. chicken soup -- make sure it's HOT
2. gargling with warm salt water
3. lozenges may not work, but i pop in halls after halls after halls and it soothes
4. drink a lot of liquids. if it's a virus of some sort, you need to flush it out of your system.

there's never a GREAT solution (i get pretty awful sore throats), but a combination of the above is good.

Not talk, and try to keep your throat from being dry. Stay away from tap water and things like that, OJ or bottled water would be better, keep up with the drops, and if you have a warm air humidifier lock yourself in your room with it for a few hours, it'll help immensely.

lol, soar throat :D

I talk on the phones 7 days a week. Some days my mouth moves but hardly any audible sound come out of it (how doe we make girls do this - yap but make little/no noise? heh). Some days I don't even want to talk cause it seems like every effort to talk makes the throat even more sore. I used to eat a lot of halls, but broke off the habit.
