So you people who work 9-5, what state do you live in?

Its very rare that you hear of anyone working 9-5 here in south Louisiana, most people work at least 8-5 (1 hour unpaied lunchbreak). I would love to move to a state that institutes a 9-5 work day.

I was thinking the same thing when I read the other 9-5 post.

I work 8:00 - 4:30 with a 30 min (yeah right) lunch.

I work 7-4, but same thing as you. 1 hour unpaid lunch, unpaid overtime...Err this thread is making me 🙁

I was offered a 9-5 position a few years ago in NC. The catch was that you were expected to work weekends and nights when needed.

I think 8-5 is pretty standard ... 9-5 is just a common phrase.

Of course, when you're salaried, those hours are really just guidelines.

9-5, 40 hours a week, paid lunch as along as I want, but in moderation. That's both my jobs i have had. I live in MA.

they only care if i work 37-40 hours a week. I can go over if i want too, but it is straight pay.

edit...what the...i thought i hit the edit button.....

The hours for me are "technically" eight to five (im in NY), but its pretty much an unsaid policy that so long as you do all your work, you can come and go as you please...

8:30-4:30 w/45 min lunch. I could never imagine working earlier than 8 in the morning, you people must really be morning people.
