I have no problem using the word retarded to describe events or objects or people because it refers to "really screwed up in a really obvious way."

I refer to people with disabilities as mentally disabled. I would NEVER called someone with a mental disability "retarded".

PCness has taken the word retarded completely away from referring to the mentally disabled, and therefore it is free game to use that word in reference to something else.
