SO yah I stopped in gamestop on my lunch break and they had a wii kiosk up with excite truck in it. so I had to try it out.
my friend and I played 1 race split screen.
I don't know what that other guy in the other thread was talkin about, but this game is not that hard to control. we had the hang of it after like 5 seconds. sure sometimes you overcompensate when steering, cause thats what you usually have to do in video games. but the majority of the time, after I got the hang of it, it was pretty simple to control.
it is a lot like driving a real car when going 60 MPH on a highway. if you see a small turn on the highway, you barely turn your wheel. that's how it is in this game. you just barely turn your wrists.
the whole time my friend and i were just goofing off having a blast smiling away. this thing is just flat out fun. i was shocked at how damn responsive the controls were, I truly was. I expected to have SOME sort of delay, but not one second of delay. it was as responsive as the 360 wireless controller is.
the one letdown though definitely was the graphics. i dunno if its cause i have been playin GoW the past 2 days and then went to something like this, but the graphics didn't look much better than gamecube at all. granted I was playing split screen so I'm sure the graphics took a little dive, but still, I couldn't help but just say "meh" to the graphics.
that aside, it is going to be one hell of a fun system. it's definitely going to have a lot of sales. there were a couple other guys in there who also seemed to be sold on it.
I was pretty surprised at how small the controler was too. for some reason I thoght it would be a little bigger or heavier. the thing is LLIIGGHHTT.
I'm not going to camp out for a Wii, but if I see one for sale on the 19th, I'm definitely scoring one. way to go Nintendo!
