I don't know if I should be happy or sad.

Right now we live in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. I am 18 and have lived in 3 houses, all within 3 minutes driving distance of each other. I have many good friends here and don't want to lose all of them. I don't want to leave my home of Winnipeg, and I am set to start university in September at the University of Manitoba.

My parents want to move to BC. More specifically, Victoria (looking in Sooke right now). If we move, I will be leaving all my friends, my relatives and everything else I've ever known. In BC, I will have to start over. This could either be a good or a bad thing.

Looks like its time for you to find yourself a job and move out...into U of Manitoba residence. Don't make the mistake I made. Living at home through university is frustrating...it's best for you to be away from your parents anyway.

The thing is, my parents think the universitys in BC would be better than anything Manitoba has to offer. (UoM is crap compared to other universitys in Canada)

If my parents move, I'm gonna go with them (I want to be near them)

View this move as a new chapter of your life that is unfolding and go forward. You will need an umbrella and skis. 😉

You?ll be surprised at how many people from the ?peg are in BC and at how many of your friends will want to visit you once you?ve made the move. I know my friend Shelora was when she first moved out there. Once she settled in, her couch was booked solid! 🙂 You can always pop back out to visit too, the distance isn?t that great.
