I got the job as a computer technician!!!

I built 2 computers today, both the computers from scratch. One of them was a Thunderbird 700 system. It was my first Athlon system. I used a Asus K7V board (I think).

The 2nd system was a p3 500 (not cumine), with an Abit VA6. Both systems were easily built, I cleaned up all the cables and configured Win98 on both.

I had a bunch of fun, talking with the other tech's there. The manager said he was quite pleased with the work I did, and I would be starting on monday at 10:30 am!

I EVEN GET A BUSINESS CARD!!!

Wheres this? The shops here wouldn't even consider my application because I had no "education". Even though I was able to solve a problem at one shop that the techs there couldn't.

stefan, where are you working at? what age are you? and do you have any certification or education that helped you get your job? I'm considering doing tech support at best buy, i'm 15, no certification (although I could probably barely pass the a+ test right now or get a much better grade when if I study). do you think I'll get a chance at that job? if not, what job could I get (besides being a cashier)?

I'm 18. I just graduated from high school and am going to be working full time for a year before I go to university.

The place where I work is called Computer Avenue. It isnt a big shop like Future Shop or something like it.

I DO NOT have any certifications. No A+, MCSE or anything else.

hehe yeah no kidding!

nice job man, I hope the people there treat you with respect. the reason I say that, is I've been there a few times, and the people who work there (not all but I had an encounter with one guy..) may not necessarily be nice. hope you don't have the same experience that I did (maybe he got fired! lol).
