This sums up my thoughts:

https://www.facebook.com/BringBackF...205393.215766950258/10153133268180259/?type=1

Edit: Some explanation is required due to a change at the BringBackFirefly facebook page. Originally, it had a meme generated of Jewel Staite giving the finger, with the text complaining at Fox about not bringing back Firefly.

She asked that it be taken down, and it was, so my post makes no sense now...

Not actually posting to announce X-files but to rally for Firefly -

Firefly...

Man, if only they didn't have to condense 4 or 5 seasons of plot into one movie... yes the series was criminally cut short.

Aside from the fact that Joss Whedon is on the Avengers it might be a bit awkward on the hypothetical relaunched Firefly set though

There's still a whole lot they could do with it though, like the gap between the TV show & the movie. The actor's ages isn't so much of an issue either thanks to makeup & CGI, just look at what they did with Patrick Stewart in X-Men in the flashback:

Joss Whedon is an amazing guy. I remember starting to watch Firefly & thinking how dumb the Western accents were in space, then getting totally hooked. That man is a genius

I didn't realize Coach was coming back. I watched that as a kid, for some reason it was one of the few non-kid shows I was actually interested in for some reason. +1 for Craig Nelson

I agree when Joss Whedon isn't being bothered by the suits he makes great TV and Movies. It's hard to see him going back to TV though when Marvel is having him work on the MCU.

Firefly was not popular enough to get a full reboot.

Stargate's deserving, though I hate reboots (better than nothing though), and isn't the SG reboot going to be movies only? I'm pro-TV series due to the ability to present more detailed story arcs instead of being action-fests.
