Although it's a bit shortsighted since games are not cheap unless they go bargain bin.

Video games are a lot cheaper than most hobbies. At least if you're a fucking casual or a console peasant.

With the exception of maybe watching whatever's on tv and praying for death.

If I had known this was a thing, maybe I can get some company to adopt me by giving me a new $3,000 gaming rig.

This is what we called an Xbox one all of last generation. Just give them a used one of these.

Give the kids some board games and the parents a day of training at your job with a guaranteed interview at the end. Hire them if they'd be a good fit.
