As someone who has had this happen, I recommend re-installing the OS and being more careful about the drives that are connected to the PC during a Windows XP installation. This is one of those mistakes that you only make once (or twice).
Re-installing XP now is REALLY easy. But if you peform a "fix" and install all your applications and data and THEN find you have a problem, you will have wasted a LOT more time.
Or, just live with the new drive letters. It doesn't cause any real problems.
