I am out of the loop, I have a Samsung 1080p 40 inch. Been fine, still works. Looking at 58-65 inch TV.

What are the models to consider with this kind these kinds of determiners:

PQ (out of the box would be great)
Lag
Bells and Whistles are last.

2000 budget or less. We have a PS3, and do play games and watch Blu Ray. The room does have some light in it, we do have shades, but you know how that goes. Not sure what is good now a days. You read all those posts, this one buzzes, this one has white bands, this one lags, this one has edge bleeding, this one has screen door effect, this ones black values do not last ....eesh...plus the model numbers are like prison IDs. How can you keep up with them? Plasma might be better? Or LED? LCD?

Some points in the right direction would be much appreciated. And Yes, I have perused the AVS forums..

with that budget and the size you want id get a 58 inch Panny V10

last years model, can be found for very good prices. great PQ nd all that, will however have the panny black issues down the road

Dont want issues down the road... any others?

65" Mitsu DLP and some pairs of 3D glasses. You've already got a 3D player (PS3), so why not? $2000 is really low budget for this size in plasma.

Go 73" instead if you don't mind it being even larger. They're only $1400 max at Dell (typically on sale for around $1200). If you do want the 65" (I have one and can attest to them being good), they will sometimes go on sale for $930.

58 Samsung B550 has been on sale for 1600-1800 often. I would do that and a calibration and call it a day.

same model also comes in the handy 82" size(drool)

I'd do this. At 9' away from my 50", it looks too small. A 65" from 12' away would look the same. I'd go for a 73" to 82" DLP since the projector is not an option.
