so why do ppl clap every half minute for the state of the union?

plus, it could finish so much sooner too if they didnt keep clapping all the time.

Honestly, they stand and clap when they support what he's saying, you can learn alot about certain politicians by watching. Like Ted Kennedy...he doesn't agree with anything Bush says...either that or he's too drunk to stand.
