Well folks... it's been interesting. DPAD was almost completely unknown for the longest time. Almost single-handedly... I kept TeAm Anandtech DPAD in 7th place world-wide.

Now -- some 50 or so more members later - we're a force to be reckoned with. We got clobbered by US-Distributed, and fought back to pass them yesterday... only to have them re-take the lead today.j

If you're "sitting on the fence" with regard to any projects... our team would be PLENTY happy to have your processor cycles. Any of our TeAm mates who have ceased submitting results -- we'd sure love to have you back!

We are presently in 4th place overall. We're going to take 3rd with just a few more cycles. We'll take #1 with some major join-ups. (yes... that means taking on the DPC!) :Q

So. Who has the "stuff" to take on the "big boys" and have a good old-fashioned brawl? TeAm DPAD is moving ahead with or without you -- but we'd sure like it to be WITH you!

Who's up for that? ;)

Here's the official DPAD "Missing in Action List" with the number of hours elapsed since last submission:

Guys and Gals,

I came over from USD and not only did they take back the lead but they are aware that our day to "dump" is Friday.
You can be certain that they WILL be prepared with a counter dump of their own.

We're going to need all the help we can get.

Let's Rock!

I left DPAD because i'm saving up money to buy 6x AXP 2400+ running linux, and the DPAD client doesn't play well with linux, if it runs at all, it'll run really slow on WINE.

So i switched over to another DC project that supports linux. Buying 6x versions on windows would be a waste of money since each of these things will cost less than $200 a peice

OK here's some stuff about DPAD that not everybody knows...:D

a Worthy project :)...Well it's not just about building a Neutrino Factory it's also going to be used in experiments for neutralizing radioactive waste by transmuting the radioactive elements into stable ones.

How much wu to cache ...This is the beauty of DPAD, you download the client and it starts calculating results...no caching of wu...no running out of wu...nothing like that...It can autosend when the result.txt file reaches 100k...about 2days on a P4 2.6GHz, or you can manualsend it whenever you like...like after a month...if you wanna do some dumpen...

a Dial-up modem :(...Connect whenever you like...results are small so sending is fast....

How bout my old pcs :p...DPAD runs great on older pc's, I've got some cel400s running...takes a few days to reach 100k...but believe me 100k is a lot! and it's 100k you didn't have...

Installations :)...DPAD can run in the background...has a screensaver....and has a service install from soni, oh and it works with HT cpu's!

But is it fun :D...DAYUM yeah, this is the most fun you can have sitting alone in ur room...the TeAm is great, great stats that update hourly, and we're movin up in the rankings! But when SETI ends a lot of the other teams are gonna gain new members...and so do we! + we have the hottest babes in TA

And another reason to run DPAD:

You can tell people you're hanging around right under a really great team, like US-D. :D

Well, this IS a major problem. The whole [AVE] Team left DPAD because Stephen does not develop a good Linux port. I have no idea why he doesn't do it, but IMHO it sux.

Btw: No need to buy 6 versions of windows. If u own ONE and those 6 PCs are all yours, u're allowed to install it on each of them :D

Well.... it's pretty obvious that US-D is panicked enough to both monitor our forums... and pipe in.

So - Who's up to showing them a thing or two. How about us "little guys" take on the Data-Center hotshots? - and STOMP them?

NNAA - I'm not monitoring. I'm just over here trying to drag some people over to my side.:D You're right, it's gonna be fun. If any of you has been over here "spying" on us, you might have noticed my output in the 5 or 6 projects I usually run has been almost zero for a couple days------------Uumm----Wonder why.

Stay tuned. In the mean-time. Is one of my tail-lights broke---or can you see through the dust?

I'm a little proud of it, not to be bragging. All, but 1 are homemade. The 2 pairs of "twins" are both in one case of their own, & there's 4 of those that are all inside, or connected to, one tower case.
I'll NEVER attempt that again, & yes, it is VERY loud.:D

Well, gotta go home. Buddy told me this was a bad place to be after dark. Talk to ya later & let's all see what developes & most of all--have fun.
