In high school (10th grade), I finally asked out a girl I was completely crazy about. I wanted to keep her happy so I took her to the only comedy movie at the nearby theatre. It was My Giant with Billy Crystal and some NBA player.

After the movie completely sucked for an hour, I asked her if she wanted to leave.. and I didn't get a real definitive response. So, we stayed (while I hoped it got better)... Nope, it got worse. People in the movie started barfing everywhere.

Great, so now she didn't want to go eat afterward and she just wanted to go home. Yay. Awesome date.

It still really pisses me off.. Cause, to this day, that was the hottest girl (by far) I had ever taken out. I talked to her for a few times later - but she never wanted to go on another date. Boo.

I still cannot believe how bad that movie was.. Seriously, it could break up Bill and Hillary.

I just happened to think about it.. It doesn't bother me that much. But, she was the hottest girl I have ever known.

Actually it wasn't such a bad movie but it was unexpected. And it was actually pretty funny too. So no I can't relate to you at all but I'm going to share anyway. Just as I was starting to date someone we went to see "Whipped." I don't think either of us know just how sexually oriented the movie was, which was kind of awkward that early. We both had a good time anyway though :)

With my fiancee on our first date, I took her to see 8mm because I knew she liked Nicholas Cage as an actor. I didn't do any research about the movie.

FYI movies about snuff films is not a good first date movie :)

if she liked you she would've gone out with you again regardless of the movie.

Agreed. Same thing happened once, saw Absolute Power, horrible movie. You gotta know how to enjoy a bad movie though, and make fun of it and keep things positive. A bad movie isn't enough to kill things, at least in my experiences. If she wanted to go home early it's probably a sign of something else...
sorry.

Movie, for a first date? What is your problem? =)

The WORST place for a date is a movie theatre, you dont talk to her, get to know her, etc, and lets face it, your not gonna be getting any action on the first date unless she is a ho.

True, that.. it's a bad idea. You sit there, awkward, watching the movie and not getting a chance to get to know her or talk or do anything fun. Try miniature golf, ice/roller skating, amusement park, etc..
