yeah ihave to admit....it's those idiots who put sh!t on their car that make it look ugly while putting no mods on it. if ur sh!it is ugly but you can kick some serious f'in a$$ on the track, by all means do it.

imo, if a streetable 4 were to go against a streetable 8, the 8 would win. but these cars are in two different classes. when you do mods to anything it can accomplish a lot. but if we are talkign daily driver here, most of the time the 8 would win. i think for a car to be labled a daily driver, it should have mostly bolt on parts. i mean if you got carbs and ported engine and you have to run at a high rpm at idle, that's not streetable. if you're running 14:1 compression, that 's not too streetable. atleast not for long.

we have to stop comparing apples to oranges and stop bashing on each others tastes. if u like muscle, go with it, if you like small, go with it.

Hey Matt

I talked to the loan people, I have to have a co-signer to get a loan for it simply because I do not have enough credit history. Really kinda ticks me off :| I can easily make the payments on it.

Oh yah, welcome to Anandtech :D

oh yeah...it's not always about how much hp you have but also about how light your car is. if you have a 200 hp honda crx, it will go pretty damn fast. probably enough to be SOME american muscle. are you more likely to survive an accident than the muscle...probably not. but do take into consideration EVERYTHING, not just hp.

oh yeah, why not handling too. SCCA racing is awesome. muscle doesn't always work. it all about how well tuned your machine is. it must have the right balance to have kick a$$ lap times.

AutoX is something most domestics don't take into consideration. I'm trying not to be biased, but generally, I hear "this is my 1/4 time" from most of them. Its too bad too, a lot of domestics are really great AutoX cars, just never get the chance to go :(

that's the thing radeon. a supercar is one because it can...dance like a ballerina but kick the sh!t outta you like mike tyson. now, just 1/4 mile time are great if life was a straight line but the last time i checked i had to make many turns to go to work. i'm not comparing everyday cars to supercars but our daily drivers can and in my case is my prized possession. it is my supercar. i'd rather race in traffic or on a autoX course to prove that not only my car is a tuned machine but to prove that i can do more than just press the gas and shift. it feels good taking a 25 mph turn at 75...you know what i mean?

Definately! Now if my current car could do that (without rolling, exploding, but still run afterwards :D ;) )

If we all just cared about strait lines, we should all drive funny cars or dragsters... :p

Is it just me or does anyone else think it's kind of f*cked up to say "riceboy"? I'm mean come on, that's like calling American racers (or people who drive American cars) meatheads or potatoboys. I'm not trying to be politically correct, but why identify a group of racers by the staple food of their culture? Do you see what I'm saying?

I don't think it's really a matter of crying about it, but you'd know that if you read my post...

The term riceboy evolved from the term riceburner - what domestics used to call imports when the rice culture wasn't so big.

I don't ever here domestic owners being called meatheads or potatoboys. Even if someone was calling out those names everyday, I really don't think anyone would care.

My point is I wouldn't want Asians calling me something like a doughboy or cattleboy if I drove a Camero. I understand the context of calling someone a riceboy(ricerocket)I just don't really like it...
