My employer gives no days off for the first like 3rd of the year. Its made up through the year though, since we got a ton of work to do during tax season.
 
Im' pretty sure this topic wasn't about MLK to begin with. Probably a bad joke or something that the OP got embarrased about after being owned so badly.
 
I think it's crap that this is the only holiday we get off. Much more important ones, IMO. Labor Day? Veterans' Day?
