So who is running the leak?

Android 2.1 for the Eris was leaked. I've been running it now for a few hours, and it's slick. Runs a lot quicker than 1.5. Only problem I have found is purchased apps don't show up in the market, so you will have to wait on the official release to get them back.

I've been running 2.1 on my droid for about two weeks.

It's a hack though, not the real release. It's the Bugless Beast rom overclocked to 1ghz atm.

i am, and i am really impressed. the eris is turning out to be the better of the verizon droid phones, the sense UI really sets it ahead.
i'm glad to say i haven't run into any lag at all, and it's amazing how many more menus and choices they added into the OS.

Got it up and running last night, was too busy playing to post back. Everything is working great. Just can't get one app to load, a mileage log. I downloaded 10 different log programs and finally found one I liked, and now its the only one that won't come up on the new OS.

I am AMAZED at the speed increases. We all suspected 2.x was optimized to run faster, but wow. There are a lot of nice UI tweaks to all the programs, and of course some major changes to the market and maps. I haven't driven anywhere yet, but navigation looks awesome, and the new market is really nice. Finally get to see a screenshot of a program before downloading it.

Which mileage log did you end up with? I'm looking for one that has fields for my cars DIC info for comparison as well, not just fields for gas pump reciepts. I contacted the guy at aCar and he wasn't interested in adding any more fields.

We may be talking about different types of mileage programs. I want one that logs miles for tax reporting purposes, not to see miles per gallon.

I'm curious as to if reception improves any with this update? Seems my mom is always getting 1-2 bars unless real close to a tower, while me with a droid can be 3-4 in lots more places. I don't think she has ever had a problem with calls/data, but I suspect it hurts battery some being so low.

well, normally around the house i'm lucky to get one bar, now since the update i am getting 1 to 2 bars, which is amazing where i live.

it seems to be better, but so far my battery life hasn't been as good. i've been checking status but haven't figured out why it's running down faster.
