Has anyone actually watched this? I am actually thinking about buying a ticket over Fandango even though it's not showing near me, just to support Artie. Their goal for the opening weekend is pretty high, and if they don't make it, the movie will never go into wide release.

 go see it. don't bring your wife/gf, go see it with your boys. don't expect a real plot. i'd say its along the lines of bad santa with its crude-ness and vulgarity. None the less, a very funny movie.

I find it very refreshing to see this in a time where lack of a better word, stupid comedies such as "Wedding Crashers" and "Anchorman" are all the rage.

For the record I hate Howard Stern.

Well..........I'm a big HS fan and was really dissapointed in it. The movie would have been really good if another actor played Artie's part- Artie really can't act. The rest of the cast was great though.

i thought he needed $1 million for it to be nationwide in the US and it only got $320,000?

i mean people on SFN were buying tickets for showings not even in their markets

I actually meant to do that but didn't get around to it - I'm glad since he busted the target number so badly. I will probably go to the movie here in Mpls, though. I think this was probably a wise choice by Echo Bridge, the distributor - Stern has such a loyal fan base, and even if only half of the people who joined Sirius after Howard signed go to see Beer League, it will be a big hit in terms of the modest targets they've set for it.

* Movies: Artie Lange and the Art of Guy Comedy

Artie Lange's personal life -- namely, binge drinking and eating -- often provides fodder for his fellow cast members on the Howard Stern Show. The actor and comedian has appeared in such comedies as Old School and Elf. He stars in the new film Artie Lange's Beer League.

This is a great interview - thanks for the link! It's interesting how Terry and the producers of Fresh Air appear to be such serious Stern fans - she's clearly really knowledgeable about the show. Artie really is a very bright, introspective guy.
