I wish it had navigation... i know it will increase the price a lot but still, navigation is a must in every car IMO 🙂

No Nav. Besides, the Mazda 3s is the only car in this class with one anyway. Not really necessary in this price class...especially if you want to be price competitive.

It's interesting how this thread garnered so much attention in such little time 🙂

I'm more intrested why NutBucket here is comparing cars that are so different. Sure you can compare any cars, but their really not in the same area at all.

I'm getting a tC because I like the styling, and it offers more then any other car in it's price range. And yes NutBucket ALL scion accessories are overpriced, no arguement there... better off with aftermarket for everything, Ill be getting mine bone stock.

I'm not comparing. I know that GT is very interested in the Legacy as well. So he's the one cross-shopping, not I😉

BTW, I called my local Sooby dealer, and the dude told me that a GT Limited won't be available for test driving for yet another 6 weeks, and even when it is, Subaru is producing them in limited quantity for 2005, so don't expect anything under MSRP!

Well, I wouldn't be buying until next summer at the earliest anyway😉 Thanks for the heads up🙂

And geckojohn, I don't think this can touch a GS-R😉

*shrug*

Best post in this thread. 🙂 It cracks me up when people argue over aesthetics. Some things are just personal opinion and can't be changed. I like how my Ram looks, other people hate it - similarly, I hate onions, and no one is going to change my mind by telling me how good they taste (to them). :disgust: 😉 You can't argue personal opinion. 🙂

I think Im really going to get this car, it seems to suit me much better than any other car I have looked into. There is supposed to be a supercharged version which should have around 200HP so that would be the one to my choosing. This car looks very promising I just hope I dont see a whole lot of riced versions out there when it comes time for me to buy one but for as cheap as its going thats probably gonna happen, DAMN F*CKIN KIDS!

Anyone else think its lame that a $3k supercharger adds a whole 40 hp?

Still not as bad as the turbo'ed Mazdaspeed Protege or whatever that makes 170hp. That's just sad.

Yeah, but it has a very conservative psi setting at 5 or 6 ?? You can boost it up safely to about 9-10 and it'll go as fast as the RSX type-S.

Meh. I'll still take my 3 hatch for $18,500.

Leather, HID's, 6 disk in dash, moonroof, ect. Better warranty. Better looking (my opinion), and I HATE 2 doors.

Took my 3 through the mountains of Flagstaff and Sedona yesterday with 25 other Mazda owners and there wasn't a second that went buy that made me feel like I made a mistake with the choice of car I did for the $$.

I like Scion tC's exterior - Mazda 3's interior 🙂

How the HELL did you get all that for $18,500. Did you have to perform special favors for the GM? Edmunds chalks up $20,114 for Leather/HID/6ID/ABS/SAB/Moon

$1000 right off the top. Then trumped him with a $500 college grad discount from my wife.

Two weeks before I bought (and hadn't made up my mind yet) they were doing $500 under invoice 🙁 🙁 🙁

I could have STOLE that thing for $1000 under invoice.

I don't mean to thread crap, but I'm going to anyway.

First, the initial comment about realiability is completely incorrect. Please do some research - and I don't mean the press releases that Toyota pays for. You'll see that this car is FAR from being reliable, and scores much worse than the average domestic on initial things gone wong.

Secondly, I hope no one in this thread who is considering buying this car is a programmer who has complained about jobs going to India.

Thirdly, the styling isn't bad. I like something a little more "edgy" which is why I'm going to enjoy the 2005 focus with the new higher horsepower engine.

Um, so please explain to me how you can judge the reliability of a car that hasn't even been released yet.

The Scion has been released. Perhaps not the tC model, but I can assure you they run down the same assembly line and will have the same types of quality problems.

In fact, the lower volume vehicle will likely have more problems with the unique components it requires.

But just ignore me. I'm only an auto manufacturing engineer.

Edit: Changed "a" to "an". It's a proven fact engineers can't spell.

And you drive a Pulsar?😛

At any rate, initial quality could mean anything from trim pieces to rattles. Mechanically its a Camry just like the other two are basically Echos.
