The spoiler for a WRX is far from pointless. Even on a fwd car the spoiler serves as somewhat of a purpose.

You all do realize that different people just like different things right? Some people like it, some don't...end of story.

I think a small spoiler would do it nicely actually. Not a big f*ckin wing I mean a little lip spoiler.

The tC and the cars you mentioned above are two totally different beasts. And it's not really pointless.

no one will ever convince me that a car the drives within the speed limit needs a spoiler.

I'd love to see my Civic's factory spoiler in a wind tunnel. I don't think it would do anything more than create turbulence.

It's just for fashion. I like the look of it, but I'm not going to delude myself into believing it provides any useful amount of downforce.

Having a car like a WRX or Evo and driving it within the speed limit is pointless as well. What's your point? Doesn't mean I don't want one......

to push the rear wheels to the ground when the car is going >90mph. That's really useful for the average personal FWD vehicle...

I think Im really going to get this car, it seems to suit me much better than any other car I have looked into. There is supposed to be a supercharged version which should have around 200HP so that would be the one to my choosing. This car looks very promising I just hope I dont see a whole lot of riced versions out there when it comes time for me to buy one but for as cheap as its going thats probably gonna happen, DAMN F*CKIN KIDS!

My original point was in reference to the fact that you said it was pointless. The spoiler does in fact do something on the car when the car is used for it's intended purpose. Why aren't you b1tching about turbos or superchargers? Or cars with over 200hp? Because that's all really unnecessary for a car that's being driven the speed limit. Or a car with a radio. Why dont you b1tch about that?

Still not as bad as the turbo'ed Mazdaspeed Protege or whatever that makes 170hp. That's just sad.

My friend has one. From the sounds of it he doesn't complain at all about it and his other car is a 350Z. And no, he most certainly does not drive like a grandpa;):p Tho, he is talking of trading in the Mazda for an Evo:D

You could just get different pulleys to increase that though, along with a few other items.

Does it void the warranty?:p

Very lame! But oh well, at least it still has the warranty as opposed to putting a turbo and voiding it.

AFAIK, it can only void the warranty if it (aftermarket part) caused the damage. So if you take your car in for warranty repair on the power window motor, they can't claim your aftermarket flywheel and pulleys void the warranty.

But if you have engine trouble, you may be screwed.

But it's a Toyota, so what are the chances of engine trouble? Go to town!

Most likely, even a CAI would void the warranty so Im told. But yea smaller pulleys would increase the boost of the supercharger and depending on how hard that is to install/remove you could just put on the old ones if you need warrant service done.

Truth be told, I haven't seen an attractive <$20K sedan/hatchback on the road.
