After seeing the depressing threads today, I thought I'd make a thread about the good things that happened today. I got moved from my shared, small cubicle to the equipment room, giving me my own desk and a window. And a door. I'm the only student worker with a window, or for that matter a room. And I'm the second newest student technician in the department. I guess it pays on occassion to have a work ethic. Plus I keep getting put in charge of a few of my fellow student techs to try and keep them working. Which, while that in effect sorta sucks (more work), it also means I'm going to get my raise sooner. So, work is looking up.

Oh, yeah, and my brand new UT-6 came in today. link. So my thumb has that same feeling that I get after loading magazines all day, though this time its from working the firing button, rather than pushing 45 ACP cartridges.

I get to go back to college after break... managed to come up with the money they wanted. Yay!

Actually, I spent $185, shipped, and can easily turn around and sell it for more. That $275 is a pretty good price, I got one slightly used (and you cant see any evidence of that except for the fact that the clip isnt present) for $90 off. I'll actually probably have it for a couple weeks, and then sell it off, at no cost to me but the time I took to buy it and then ship it.

Instead of working today I went to a local trade show, got bored after an hour and went home to watch Pirates of the Caribbean on dvd, play video games, and plan my new workout program :D shh don't tell my boss.

Maybe it's bad karma, but I used to make fun of this guy at work because he got moved from his office into the printer/storage room. Sorta like Milton in Office Space (and he mumbles too). Well, at our meeting today the boss brough up the idea of moving all the computer operators (me included) into the printer room.

The good part about it is that they've come up with some money and considering putting in either a projector or some plasmas for us to monitor stuff, management wants a centralized monitoring system. Might even get a cable connection to watch TV, hehe.

My day started (well, right after midnight) with my new girlfriend asking me "you wanna get naked?", so I'd say I had a good day :)

Turned down the opportunity, though - it's still too early in wat I hope to be a very long relationship.

I had a customer come in and drop $7000 with another $1K to come, on a full home theater setup (46" Samsung DLP, Denon receiver and DVD player, Paradigm Monitor 7 plus matching speakers)...

And then I did my first walk through...helping a doctor retrofit an open area into a quasi-HT. Looking at around $10K there...and then my $25K customer came in to say hi ^_^

I love my job. :D

I just woke up an hour ago... I'd say my day is progressing pretty well so far. It's gonna get even better when I go to get food from Wendy's in a few minutes.

My grandma did wake me up at 11:00 AM asking questions about how to sell stuff in FFXI though.

I woke up at noon (today's one of my days off) and started drinking. Had a few friends over and I played with my new puppy all day. Life is good.

I am. No comparative politics today or friday because the Prof is still in China. Plus I got two free books on Ancient Roman/Greek history, old library is being torn down so they're giving away a lot of the older books.

Thought I didn't have any credit at all and decided it'd be curious to just see. Went to Hot Deals and got the free credit report in there and am at 715(FICO). Weird thing was that my mother had gotten a loan and put my name on it just for kicks and I've been getting credit for it. So I went from not having credit at all to having had credit for the past 3 years. One late payment but it was right in the beggining of the loan and should be paid off in the next 2 months. :D

I'd say that's pretty good news.
