I actually owed about a thousand bucks this year. My company gave me a piddly little bonus I didnt even want and it pushed me into the next tax bracket.

That cost me my special check and 1,000 of my own dollars.

Thats when up your 401k % for that one pay period. That way you stay below the bracket you need but don't lose the money as well.

Shens. You don't lose money by going to the next tax bracket. Not all of your money is taxed at the next bracket, just what went over. So you'd rather have no bonus at all then a bonus taxed in a higher bracket? lulz.

I appreciate your help, but when I did my own taxes using TurboTax, I owed money.
When I didnt believe that, I used the Cosmi Complete Tax. Still owed money.
When I thought both programs were wrong, I went to a CPA.
Guess what?
I still owed money to the state, the IRS, and an accoutant.

If you wanna do my taxes next year for free, you are more than welcome to.
Dont be insulted when I check your work with Turbo Tax.
