i see people fill up those plastic red gas canisters because of Katrina.

i guess they're prebuying to save a few $ in the wake of the anticipated surge in gas prices.

so are you?

Edit:
Rita $5/gal

I don't live down south and last I checked not much oil is drilled in florida so I don't see why they would increase.

But if you live there then well you are screwed. :p

And didn't we agree it's a auto ban now if you post gas threads? :(

I have 30 gallons worth of gas cans. If gas prices go up 50 cents I'd save myself $15. Meh.

I gave some thought to getting a couple jerrycans (which I want anyway) but if you figure 2 cans = 10 gallons = $3.00 saved if gas goes up $ .30
Not enough to really offset any of the cost (5-10%) to actually make it worth storing 10 gallons of highly flammable liquid in my apartment.

Edit: I did fill up, but the light was on anyway.

Seems like those traders come up with any reason to bend the consumers over the barrel.

Use your brain, moran.

Granted they raise the gas prices for nothing these days but the last few storms like that has done nothing to gas prices here really but then again like that bear post who knows. :p

Today I went out and spent $25 on a few gas cans...

So if the price goes up, I should save at least $15...

There were lines all over town today. Prices took their time but they've risen $0.20 since this morning.

Katrina should have had little effect on the price of oil, however, the decreased refining capacity in the Gulf is what is causing the rise in prices.

Did you miss the hurricane sticky? The one that had links to pictures of an oil platform crashed into a bridge in Louisiana, or reports that several refineries were heavily damaged?

That reminds me of the BS back in the 70's. When we all found out it was BS the companies didnt lower the prices back down. Why?

BECAUSE THEY'RE GREEDY FVCKS THATS WHY!

why would the gas prices go up because of the hurricane ?
The only states that are really affected are down south... no ?
I paid something like 2.76 for super today.
